Chief Thomas L. Crew

Chief Crew began his career as an officer with the Keokuk, Iowa Police Department in 1987.  He has worked his way through the ranks and was appointed to Chief of Police on November 15, 2005. 

Chief Crew has worked in the field of narcotics most of his career.  He has worked as an undercover narcotics officer and Field Supervisor of the Task Force, also serving several years as the Unit Commander of the Lee County Narcotics Task Force.  When not working narcotics, Chief Crew served as Captain of the Investigative Unit and Assistant Chief of the Keokuk Police Department.

Chief Crew was awarded the Enrique Camarena award for 2004 by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and DEA for his commitment to the fight against drugs in Iowa.  The award is presented each year in honor of Special Agent Camarena of the Drug Enforcement Administration who was killed by drug traffickers in Mexico in 1985.

Chief Crew is a 2005 graduate of the FBI National Academy.
